At What Age Did Your Kids Travel?

Let Your Kids Travel Before They Grow UpMy wife and I are both baby boomers and I was traveling before I was even able to walk or crawl. It was great for us because our relatives all lived in other provinces. I was born in Ontario Canada and was traveling within weeks of my birth. Well all the relatives needed to see my fat little face for the first time, right.
There are many parents who still think they need to wait until their kids are older before they let them travel. This often means they wait many years before they try to take a family vacation. The great news is that today there are more and more options for kids travel than there has ever been before. There are many places who are now catering to the under five age group, and this makes taking a family vacation much easier and more convenient. You no longer have to worry about what to do with your kids when you need a moment alone.

When you take your kids on vacation, you want to spend a lot of time with them. However, you also want to have some time to yourself so you may relax. Many of the places that cater to kids travel today have many options from which you can choose. This means that there are many ways you can find time to be alone with yourself or with your spouse. Kids travel has come a long way, and there is no reason why you should not take advantage of it.

Disney is the latest company to take advantage of kids travel. I know what you’re thinking, but you are not exactly correct. Disney has always been for children, but not necessarily children under five. If you take a child under five to Disney, you will now find things catered towards them directly. Just last summer Disney hosted children’s entertainers who are geared towards those under the age of five. Groups such as the Wiggles, and the Doodlebops were featured in a concert series. Until then, most of the stuff at Disney was for older children.

There are also hotels and amusement parks who are now specializing in kids travel. There is a Nickelodeon hotel, and many amusement parks are designing sections just for children under five. Six Flags has recently joined in on the kids travel bandwagon, as they will be offering special sections of their park just for the youngest children. Even better, many of these places have optional childcare. That means when you travel with your children, there will be somebody there who can watch or children for you. These people will be prescreened by the park or resort, and will at all times be supervised so that you don’t have to worry about their safety. If you have been thinking of taking a vacation, but have not done so because of the age of your children, you will soon find you have more options for kids travel that you ever imagined.
